A same-day return trek for experienced hikers with a high level of fitness. The destination is Senaru crater rim, not Rinjani’s main summit, and the route does not descend to Segara Anak Lake. Expect a long, strenuous day rather than an easy beginner walk.

Start very early in Senaru, ascend through the forest towards the crater rim, pause for the views if conditions allow, then return to Senaru on the same day. Agree the departure time and turnaround limit with your guide.
